My name is Parth Patel, and I am a senior microbiology major from Austin, Texas. I am serving as Mortar Board’s Vice President this year. Outside of Mortar Board, I am highly involved at Texas Tech. I am the current serving President and one of the co-founders of Tri-Beta biology honors society. This past year, I was elected as an Arts and Sciences senator for the Texas Tech Student Government Association. As a member of the Texas Tech Honors College, I have taken full advantage of all the opportunities they have to offer. I conduct research at the Health Sciences Center through their Undergraduate Research Scholar program. I am also an Honors First Year Experience Mentor, helping freshman honors students acclimate to college life in their first semester. Throughout the year, I volunteer at the Ronald McDonald House located at the TTUHSC helping provide aid to families with children born in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. Throughout the year, I also spend time at the HSC in their internal medicine clinic shadowing specialties such as Nephrology and Endocrinology. I hope to one day attend medical school here at Texas Tech and pursue my career as a doctor.
