Hi. My name is Hunter Hall and I am excited to serve as the president of Mortar Board. Currently, I am a senior energy commerce major from Farwell, Texas. During my time at Texas Tech I have been very involved in a diverse group of student organizations. I am a founding father of my fraternity, Beta Theta
Pi, and served on the chapter’s first executive board as the Vice President of Risk Management. To further advance the Greek community, I am currently serving as the Executive Vice President of the Interfraternity Council. During my junior year, I represented the students at-large as a senator in the Student Government Association. I also was the chair of the campus infrastructure committee during my term as a senator. As an Energy Commerce major, I have completed two summer internships with oil
and gas companies. As an intern with Anadarko Petroleum, I worked as a division order analyst which is primarily figuring divisions of interest of minerals for the company. As an intern for Concho Resources, I served as a land intern learning various methods of mineral and surface land management to be able to
effectively and safely explore for oil and gas in the Permian Basin. I hope to work as a Landman after I graduate and pursue my own entrepreneurial endeavors. In addition to my professional development, I served on the executive board of the philanthropic organization Raiderthon. My pride for Texas Tech runs very deep! Both of my parents graduated from Texas Tech and during my junior year I was given the opportunity to represent my fraternity on homecoming court. One of my favorite memories at Texas
Tech was being able to walk onto the field at half time of a football game with my mother and celebrate Tech’s rich history. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my Labrador, girlfriend, family, and
friends. If you are even thinking about applying to mortar board, do it! It is an incredibly rewarding organization that will allow you to grow during your last year on campus. Wreck Em’ Tech and long live the matador!
