Helen Scott, Mortar Board Vice President, is a senior biology major from Houston, TX. She is involved in biomedical and genetic laboratory research, and is the vice president for the university's Undergraduate Research Fellowship Program. Helen also represents the red raiders as a competing member, and student leader of the swim team. Helen’s favorite college experience so far has been assisting in a remote medical clinic in Guatemala, with distinguished Texas Tech alumni, Dr. Garry Fish. After graduation, Helen plans to attend medical school and earn her M.D., with hopes of serving in the military medical corps. Other achievements include: President’s List student, Florence Brown Scholarship, Rushings Scholarship, Women’s Leadership Institute Member, Ronald Reagan Student Leader Award, Undergraduate Representative of the West Texas Association for Women in Science, and player on Haboob, the women’s ultimate frisbee team.
