Some of our officers attended Mortar Board National Conference in Columbus, OH. Since it has been 100 years since the organization’s foundation, this national conference was the centennial celebration of Mortar Board. Our chapter accepted the Ruth Weimer Mount Chapter Excellence Award which recognizes the top chapter in the nation. It’s the first time the Forum chapter has achieved this honor. We are extremely proud of the organization and the members who have served in years past!
Mortar Board was founded on February 15, 1918, with chapters at four institutions: Cornell University, The University of Michigan, The Ohio State University and Swarthmore College.
Forum, an honorary service organization, was founded at Texas Technological College by Mrs. Mary W. Doak, Dean of Women.
Forum became the 97th chapter to join the National Mortar Board.
